Viewing a flat in Spanish: the questions to ask
A viewing lasts fifteen minutes and you get one pass at it. Ask the three that cost money: “¿La luz y el agua están incluidas?” (are electricity and water included?), “¿Cuánto es la fianza?” (how much is the deposit?), “¿De cuánto es el contrato?” (how long is the contract?).

Read one role and then the other. The translations are there to understand it; try it again afterwards without looking.

What to know before you go
- «Suministros» or «gastos» means the bills. If the agent says «aparte», they are not in the rent.
- «Fianza» is the deposit, usually one or two months. Ask when it comes back — the answer tells you a lot about the agency.
- «¿Puedo pensármelo?» is a complete, polite exit. You are not expected to decide standing in the hallway.
