Collecting a parcel at the CTT in Portuguese
Show the notice and say why you are there: “Tenho um aviso de entrega” (I have a delivery notice). Bring the card and your ID. If you are sending something instead, they will ask what is inside, and you have to answer.
Portuguese phrases with translations
Two errands share one counter: collecting a parcel and sending one. These cover both.

What to know before you go
- «Aviso de entrega» is the card they leave when nobody answers the door. It is the word that turns a confusing slip into a five-minute errand.
- They will always ask what is inside a parcel. «São documentos» or «é roupa» is enough — it is customs, not curiosity.
- «Faz favor» said by the person behind the counter means «go ahead», not «please». It is your cue to start talking.
